We ended our Vietnam tour and next stop was Cambodia. It took a 7 hour bus journey to get from Vietnam to Cambodia which dropped us off at the central shopping market in the city centre where we jumped on our first tuk tuk. It cost $4 to get to Samsara Villa Cambodia. We had the address written out and used Google Maps to ensure the tuk tuk was going the right way.
Check-in was quick and easy as we sipped homemade orange juice. The first night we were absolutely shattered it was lashing rain so we decided to get room service. We were staying in the top floor and I had to walk out through the rain but to my surprise there was a member of staff waiting in the rain with an umbrella in-case anyone needed shelter.
“Single best choice of our Phnom Penh trip”
For dinner we got 2 glasses of house wine and cashew nut rice. The resort was the single best choice of our Phnom Penh trip. The food was to die for we ended up eating in the villa every evening. The hardest thing was choosing what to get as it was all so good!
We had breakfast included with our stay and it was delightful with 3 options: Fruit, Continental fry and Asian noodles. Every ounce of food we ate there was of the highest quality and the breakfast was no different.

Samsara Vila Top Class Facilities
Cannot say one bad word about the facilities they were top class and most importantly very clean. There is a open area restaurant adjacent to the pool, a bar and reception area. There is a relaxing communal area with a small library and an L couch.

Bullet Point Flashpackers Review
- Staff are extremely friendly, hard working and go the extra mile to ensure their guests have a comfortable and relaxing stay
- Facilities matched the pictures on website
- Very clean villa with the odd lizard climbing the outer walls
- Small bit far out from the centre but had restaurants close by including a great steak house
- Food is absolutely amazing my favourite was the Chicken Cashew Nut dish
- Cocktails by the pool a much needed break from the sightseeing
Final Note: First time we felt so comfortable in a hotel we didn’t want to leave. Enjoying cocktails at the pool every afternoon was a welcomed getaway from the dirt and humidity while sightseeing out in the city. We highly recommend it to other couples who want some peace and quiet in Phnom Penh.
